What can I expect in my first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll explore what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to experience or change, and what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. There's no pressure to dive into anything before you're ready — building trust and safety comes first.
Do you take insurance?
I am a private pay practice. I can provide a superbill upon request that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I encourage you to contact your insurance company in advance to understand your out-of-network benefits.
How long are sessions and how often will we meet?
Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which helps build momentum early in the work. Frequency can be adjusted over time based on your needs and goals.
Do you work with trauma?
Yes — trauma work is at the heart of my practice. I specialize in trauma and Complex PTSD using an integrative approach that blends evidence-based therapies with somatic and holistic methods to support healing at every level.
What makes your approach different?
I work with the whole person — mind, body, spirit, and energy. While I am grounded in evidence-based, trauma-focused clinical frameworks, I also recognize that lasting healing often requires going beyond traditional talk therapy. My approach is integrative, collaborative, and deeply individualized.
Do you work with a specific population?
I work with adults navigating trauma, Complex PTSD, recovery from narcissistic or emotional abuse, women's wellness, and adult ADHD.
How long will therapy take?
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people come with a specific goal and find meaningful relief in a shorter timeframe. Deeper trauma work often unfolds over a longer period. We'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust as needed.
Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person?
Research consistently supports the effectiveness of telehealth therapy, including for trauma work. Many clients actually find the comfort of their own space helps them feel safer and more open. All sessions at Zingara Wellness are currently conducted virtually via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
How do I know if you're the right fit for me?
Fit matters enormously in therapy. I offer a brief consultation call so we can connect, you can ask questions, and we can both get a sense of whether working together feels right. There's no obligation.
What if I've tried therapy before and it didn't work?
That's more common than you might think — and it doesn't mean therapy can't work for you. It often means the approach, the fit, or the timing wasn't quite right. I'd love to hear what your experience has been and explore whether a different approach might open new doors.
Have questions about working together? You're not alone — starting therapy is a big step, and it's natural to want to know what to expect. Below are some of the questions I hear most often. If something isn't covered here, feel free to reach out directly — I'm happy to connect.
